Hi everyone, haven't owned a 250r in a long time and they are near impossible to find on the east coast of Canada. I'm thinking the only way I'll have one is to find a frame and build it myself.

Depends what your budget is. Keep in mind that to have everything shipped from the U.S. will be insanely expensive as well. Maybe the best way, would be to have one shipped from Ontario or Quebec? They can be found there. Are you proficient in building machines?
Where else is there to look in Ontario or Quebec besides kijiji or marketplace,I never seem to see much 250r stuff, just usually finished ones for 10 to 15 thousand.

To build it piece by piece will be very expensive - I’m learning that the hard way myself. However, it’s been much easier to hide the parts over time from my wife rather than buying a completed build🤣 You’ll likely be further ahead if you can find a complete 250R that meets most of your needs, even if it costs more up front.
I know exactly what you mean,I've been looking for years on and off around where I live with no luck so that is why I'm thinking of building one even though it is so expensive.

I understand spreading the expenses out, but you will ultimately have more into it and sometimes by the time you are done building (because it takes so long to find good parts) you may have missed out on a lot of riding, or lose interest. Unless building is more interesting to you. I think at 10K CAD the one in Huntsville is a good deal. You'd be hard pressed to find all the parts in the U.S and shipped to you for that. The other thing is, unless you are 1 hour or less from the border, getting people to ship you parts is so hard. VERY HARD. I've made deals with so many sellers, that end up selling to someone in the U.S. before they will even give you a price for shipping.
I here what your saying, I do enjoy the building part though. I think I'll try and have some patience, hopefully something will pop up closer to where I am.
