Yes the 87 is a long rod...I would say around $2,000. Depending on location.

sounds like you already made a decision LOL

1 of the first things I consider when buying someone else's machine is who owned it
..a kid ? an adult ...who kept it running who worked on it etc ..does he sound like he was able to take care of things ..make repairs ..do maintenenance etc

not sure how location matters ..unless he means = how far you may have to travel to see it ...& even that matters little for value purposes

just had someone travel 4 hours to look at 1 of our bikes ...then he offered less on my Firm price WTF ? .,, & I said no thanx !!! ...& drove 45 minutes back to my house

R's on the west coast seem to go for more money then on the east cost.

we went & watched as usual we go every year ..only difference this year was she more knew kids racing & we enjoyed the races & visiting with a couple of her new sponsors etc
I dont beleive I want her to race there ever ..not even her sponsors paid 100% & I was paid to be there all weekend
but speaking of her sponsor's & Motorama I did pick up (finally) the matching the rear spring to the forks for her 06 KTM 65 ..installed it today

LOL..yeah it is a crasharama...The wife and I were there yesterday, we had a good time. It was nice to see Dunks bike in person..I thought it looked really good for a thumper..lol

its not that one that one is an 86. this one belongs to pappy over on exriders. i have a pic of the one for 1300 tho. im thinking that was a fake ad tho cuz the guy is giving me the run around on it.

btw im getting this one for 1300 some time next week. i have a week long class for my carpenter apprenticeship in pitts os after class im gonna go meat him at the pa-wv line

the 1 that pappy has is junk he had a post a while back on exriders asking what the engine was worth because the frame was shot and it need to much ,,hope thats not the 1 your sitting on I'lll look for the link and post it
its under the 250r section incase someone else wants ta look probably a month or so ago

i picked it up today and it runs great! i got it home drained the tank, cleaned the corb, changed the coolant, changed the oil. fired up 2nd kick and idled. rode it for about 2 hours problem free. im going out and pulling my kicker off brake levers and other little parts to powdercoat. pics will follow soon. btw i got it for 1 grand. :p


so far from looking at i noticed- prp engraved on the jug, pivot works front bushings, mikuni flatslide, v force reeds, spacer plate. all the gaskets are new looking not all dirty. all bearings are tight. the frame is whats bad tho. it has an engine cradle welded in.

ok it wasnt prp on the jug. it was rrp. anyone ever here of this?

also what would everyone reccomend for fluids? i want to change them allready just to flush everything out. im undecided on gn2 or klotz for the gas. what about the bottem end, ive heard of atf being used? i have 10w30 in it now. what for coolant? im gonna try to get a video of it running and see what everyone thinks in a few hours. thanks in advanced.

When it comes to oil, you will get a lot of different answers. There was a thread on here awhile back about tranny oil. A lot of guys are using bel ray gear saver. Others said use atf, motor oil, gear saver, anything, just change it more often. I use the Honda CR gear oil and change it about every other trip out to the dunes.

For the mix oil, the synthetics are pretty good for most applications. Try to find a reputable brand at a reasonable price. Super M is priced well and easy to find. I use ams oil interceptor. A lot of guys use the Dominator.
