Well, I am graduating from college in May and starting my new job and also moving from my parents house the village to my own house in the country, so I am contemplating buying a UTV. I have about a hundred acres of land to play with. I am having a hard time coming to terms with buying anything other than a Honda. I realize that the 2009 Honda Big Red UTV is coming out, but to be honest it looks like a turd with little suspension travel, looks heavy as hell, smaller motor than the others. What do others think? Any insights?

So what should I do? I really like the 2008 Rhino with the flat black carbon fiber plastic and ghost flames. I also like the Polaris RZR. My loyalty is with Honda, but the thing is downright ugly. What do you guys think?

Teddy

I would get the RZR or wait to see if maybe Honda will release a more sporty UTV. They probably will not do that though.

go with a polaris ranger series. the RZR is awsome for a sport machine. but if you need a more work machine the ranger 4x4 or 6x6 are beast. they can pull like no other. i love honda but i do own a sportsman 500 and it pull our 20 foot cobalt boat around with no problem. the ranger used to have the same 500 motor but they have upgraded to a large motor now. think it is the 700.

Yeah, I am more looking for a sport machine, but it is still a toss up between the RZR 800 and the Rhino 700. You can do so much aftermarket to both of them. But I would agree that the RZR is a lot sportier.

No question if you want a sport machine go with the RZR you will have to drop a few bills just to get the rhino up to the speed and power of the RZR. I think the RZR is governed in the 55-60 range and the rhino is around 35 stock. i my personal opinion i would buy a polaris over a yamaha. I have had several polaris machines they may not be the fastest thing out there but they just keep going. the sportsman is only use for plowing now because i have the R. But before that it had made several trips around waldens playboy motocross track. let me tell that 1000 pound machine was being riden harder than i have ever rode my R. when i did take it to the track it had around 20,000 miles on it yes 20,000 dont know how many know the speedo stopped working. thats the only problem I have had with it.

I would, but the house we are renting/remodeling/maybe buying borders my girlfriend's parents land, where the majority of the acreage is. I would need the go ahead from her dad! He probably wouldn't care and would build it for me! We'll see!!!! :)

thanks
my college is 2 years and most of my classes are hydraulics and electronic classes because thats what controls everything in the new machines. and if you can't work a laptop you are screwed.
