How to identify TRX250R mufflers.

I have a few extra TRX250R mufflers, but am curious as to how to determine the year from the markings. The OEM Part numbers are the same except the last 3 digits, 003. 670.and 770. Are they all compatible?. Looks like the header pipe is the same for 86-89.

I get all my part numbers from partzilla which have always been accurate:
1985 ATC250R & 1986 TRX250R oem silencer numbers end in 003
1986 ATC250R ends in 671
1987 TRX250R ends in 670
both 1988 & 1989 TRX250R ends in 770

I believe all stock silencers from 85 to 89 will interchange with both the ATC & TRX.
