Hey guys just bought an 87 I live higher up in elevation from here I bought it and it needs to have the jetting fixed. How would you guys recommend doing it? Has the stock carb, fmf exhaust system, air box delete and I live at 7000 feet elevation. Thanks y’all.

7000'...current jetting set for Sea Level?

The Higher the altitude, the Leaner the Jetting needs to be. Compression will be way down from Sea Level as well. The proper method is to bring the compression numbers back to what it was at Sea Level, then re-jet leaner.

As an example; if your Sea Level OEM Cylinder Dome was 22CC, it will need to be around 19CC at 7000' to equal the same Compression Number. Perform a full UCCR, or at least check Squish clearance, Dome CC's and compression....then adjust accordingly.

To even venture a guess we would need to know the what elevation and jetting the bike was set up at before you took it to 7000 ft. And that assumes it was jetted property at the original elevation.
