well its time to get that new p.v. cylinder! niel should i go with the ct or esr? as far as prices goes.I would like the best p.v. setup especially :D i'm not sure what size to go with, however, but it would be used for mx and dunes mainly. I was thinking the 310 would be my choice, cause the 330 is to tiring, but i need to run with the 450's what is your thoughts on this. And anyone elses opinions would be great too. prices with your porting work  would be awesome.thanx

p.s. sorry for the spelling of your name.i can't go back and fix it

i would go with a 78mm bore kit with a 4mm crank. makes it a 363cc, or what they like to call a 370....it is not very much more money at all to do it.....GO BIG OR GO HOME! LOL

:D that might be a lil much, going from a stock cylinder with a crappy port job. I sent a couple emails out in search of the sphinx cylinder with no responses, blasterman have you heard anything about them. And hows your puma coming along?

i like my esr 340 pv bu thave not ran a ct. I think you posted on the other site as well? i replied to that one. i think ct has a better pv setup from what i have heard. Esr looks trick but not as good and their porting sucks. Neil would be better to ask cuz he is always workin on these things

i personally think for a out of the box port job and cylinder kit, you cannot beat ESR's price or what you get for the money!

Thanks for asking.
A top end from either company will cost the same.
I guess it depends on the type of riding or racing your going to use the engine for on where to get it from, if you want a CT or an ESR ported one.

CT, those p/v valves work better at bottom end than the ESR valves on trail, GNCC, or MX. If your play drag duning or later want to drag port the cylinder, then the ESR is fine.
Far as porting, the CT will be more fine tuned than the ESR. I've had my hands on many of the ESR ones & I'm sorry but thats just how it is.
Now, if you were one of their sponcered riders I'm sure it would be different & that would be from either company, ESR or CT.

What size is up to you, what fits you best for what your going to use it for.
A 310 is just a matter of bolting it on. The 330 you would need to have the cases cut to bolt it on.
ESR has a bolt on 330 with short skirts so no case cutting is needed, but I dont know if they have it in the p/v version.
Far as the 330 being tiring, porting make alot of difference either size of cylinder but suppost to be bigger the piston is more power it should produce, not always true in some cases though.

Just for giggles for me, far as the tiring part I have a cure for that :p get a lawn chair & let sombody else ride it, thats just for me though. I love to eat to good, if you know what I mean.

I can get you a ported top end kit from either place, or I could port one for you myself, price would be the same as the other places but the porting would be different from me.

Matt, far as I know still has a used 310PV for sale with my porting, might could look at that.

If you are doing mx and dunes, I would go with the CT PV. My ESR doesn't seem to do much. I would also go with a 330 or 350 if you have the cases apart. No replacement for displacement. If you buy Matt's cylinder and you don't like the ESR PV, you can get an CT PV or a Rotax one for it. Another options is ESR's new TRX71 pipe and port combo. It is mainly for play duning. It has a little more bottom than the TRX9/TRX5 combo. Neil's porting would still be better though.
