Hey, my buddy just bought a really clean 1986 R. It had been stored for a looooong time. Get this, he got it for $500 bucks from some guy that thought it was old junk. The problem is that the guy had lost the pink. Before he can get a title we have to find the VIN so it can be verified. I sold my 86 frame a few months ago and I don't remember where the VIN is located. So far we have checked the two spots I thought it may have been. It is not on the crossbar between the front shocks or on the subframe on the left side. Anyone have any ideas?

Yea, the little plate that contained the VIN on the subframe has been ripped off by a thrown chain. I just sold my 86 frame and I had found the VIN stamped somewhere else but I don't remember where. He can take it down to the DMV and have them issue a new VIN #. I had to do the same thing on that 86 frame I had. After I tore it down, I found the original VIN. Thanks, MJ
