what is the fastest stock r? im guessing 86.... higher comp, no crap blocking the main intake off the reed cage.... , what are the gear ratio differences? are first and sixth the same gear ratio on all the bikes? what are the gear changes throughout the entire gear ratio like ...are the gear ratio changes higher between gears on the 86? or the later bikes ( 87/88/89)? just trying to figure out the best bottom end to use i have a 86 trx motor that has a hotrod crank ( stock stroke) and barnett clutch plates and springs ( stock basket) ... but the kid i bought it from broke the kickstarter shaft off and put a new one in .... dont know if he put new gears in as well, it needs to be painted and has some busted stuff on case... doesn't leak, my 87 motor looks totally stock other than it has a full hinson clutch , a nice stainless steel bolt kit, no busted stuff, and has been painted and polished, stock crank though... but its the longrod, anyways if ratios are better working on the 87 i would like to just use it ... the 86 has a bad design for the clutch throwout to.... i had to replace mine on my 86 , another thing ... are boysen rad valves any good for a 250r? stock cr reeds are suppost to be better than 250r ones right? just wondering what everyone thinks?

I would stick with your 87 bottom cause you know what its condition is like...however if you plan on doing a big bore you better go thru it. And the rad valve is suppose to be the bomb on the r... so i have heard
