V-paddles are best for turning. I like the Sand Skate II, but I'd like to try the Sand Skate I or the skat trak Edge. Sand sharks are cheap and seem to be decent. The ITP sand stars are good, but they don't powerslide as well as the less aggressive V-paddles.

I would guess that BVC racing can get tires. Probably ITPs at least.
I use 20x11x8 and 20x11x10 sand skate II's. The 8 inch ones don't slide quite as well, but they ride a little smoother and have an old school look to them. I am told that the Sand skate I slides better and is less aggressive. The SS II hooks up pretty good. They are heavy compared to the skat traks, but not as heavy as some of the others. They are more pricey than ITP's and some of the foreign made ones.

I've been wanting to try the skat-trak edge. It allows more flexibility in sizing and paddle number than the molded v-paddles. Thought about trying a 7 paddle rather than the typical 8. I used to be skeptical of the haulers after I had two sets turn to junk, but may give skat-trak another try in the future.
