Wanting to get a 265PV. I don't know for sure yet though what i wana go with. Duncan Racing or ESR. Ride mostly motorcross and dunes. This is this first full topend that i have bought so i wana get it right the first time. Any opinons will help.
Also what kinda porting would you go with.

You will notice that DRI is much more expensive. It's probably better, but I'm not sure it is worth the extra cost. If you want a PV, I would go with CT or one of the Rotax style valves. ESR PVs don't work very good.

Someone said that ESR quit making the 265, dunno if this is true or not. I have both but this is not a decision I wanna be faced with. They are both good cylinders really. I dont have a lot of seat time on my ESR but it seems to be ok. On the other hand my DRI continues to impress me everytime I ride it. I think the DRI cylinder is nikasil not sure about the ESR. This means the cylinder will last longer between boring but if you do need to have it bored, it cost a little more $$$ to have it plated after boring. Also I dont know how true, but everyone says the ESR pv is not as effiencent as others.. Id say go with Duncan

Might be a problem getting a 265cc this day & time.

I talked to Allen at CT about them a few days ago & he said he would need to check to see if he still even had the molds for that size cylinder. Said it had been so long sence he at done one just didnt remember if he still had them or not.
Dont know about the Duncan, but, would probably think depending on if they still had a 265 cylinder kit in stock or not. Could be wrong on that though.

You can just about be sure a 310 or bigger bore Pro-x cylinder can be gotten, easier to get than a 265 because the 265s where when thats what you had to run in a class & hardly anybody runs them anymore so thats where we are now.
