I've always wished something like this could happen to me, but it's so far fetched that you'd almost have to strike lightning.
A guy called me about my parts I have for sale, wanted to come down and look at them but couldn't because he had a funeral to go to a couple hours away. While at a relatives, he was outside and the old man next door was having trouble closing his garage. So he offers to help and while trying to fix the old garage door notices some handlebars in the back. The guy asks if he's got a motorcylce in the back and the old man tells him they are those fourwheelie machines. He goes back to look behind a bunch of junk and notices a Red 250R and a white and red 250R. Being that the old man just wanted to get the door closed he didn't want him poking back there, but the guy asks if he's interested in selling them. The story behind them is that they were the old man's son's who died 6 years ago in a car crash so he didn't know anything about them except that they'd been sitting for 6 years and apparently they were bought new and hardly used because they had to truck them out of the city to ride which was barely 2x per year. He offered $1500 for each one but didn't know the condition or if they'd run etc so the old man said he'd get back to him as he'd have to get everything cleaned out of the garage and an old car moved to get to them. So I call the guy back about coming to look at my parts because he seemed very interested, but he tells me this story. I tell him they are probably junk and who knows if the old man will sell them anyway cause he probably doesn't care. He was planning on coming down to look at parts then his brother in law calls him and tells him he bought them both for $1600. So he wants to wait and see what comes of it.
Talk about crazy luck. No matter the condition, 1600 could be a great deal for two. So now I'm pretty interested to see what this 88 looks like.
