you should be ok on the side to side .035 as the max service limit is .040 but, more importantly...... what is the radial clearance at the big end of the rod? service limit is .002".

Is the radial clearance the up and down movement of the big end? I tried much as best to move it up and down and could not "feel" anything. How do you measure it ? Where would you put the dial indicator as my crank is still inside the cases ?

If you didnt feel any movement & it looks good & clean to you, it should be ok to use.
Most important thing is how many hours use does the crank have on it.

Side to side clearance not realy much to think about on a 250R crank. That big end can stand many hours of use if taken care of.
I think what realy is of importants is the small end, after awhile of long use I beleave it starts to elongate the pin hole.
