has anyone on here ridden or owned one of the service honda 400 ex's with the 2001 cr250 motors? do they vibrate like crazy like the cr500's? is it possible to put one of these motors in a 250r frame or would it vibrate the crap out of the bike? do the trannys hold up?

i dont think theres anyone on here that has one. i have heard, that they are bullets. i dont know what they have done for vibrations or how the transmissions hold up though. i know my CR250 bike vibrates more than my 250R ever did. buy one and write up a review. B)

search the net's 2-stroke forums. you'll find more negative feed back than you'll find positive from those that have ridden, own, built or have owned quads with the non countered 2-stroke engine in it. i've built them with and without the rubber engine mounts and quite frankly it aint worth it.

for a while i was contimplating doin a cr250 swap in my 400 but then reason hit me and i now own 2 r's that handle much better anyway. i dont remember where i found it but i found a guy who converted a atc r motor to acept a hpp cr cly and he reworked the counter/water punp shaft to control the power valve like a cr but still retained the counterbalencer if i find it ill post it

thats it i was gonna try that then i said screw that and went bib bore so far no regrets

humm...that didnt sound like as big of a project as i would have thought.
yea it doesnt seem that intensive i just don't thik i trust it
