Anybody know how I can get this melted crud off my pipe without ruining the finish? It's chrome, and that's melted stuff from my boot.

I just cleaned mine up last weekend. I always use 0000 grit steel wool and rubbing compound. Works great.

Use the finest steel wool and chrome polish.

I ran the bike hard until the pipe was hot and used an old tshirt. I hope that helps. My mark as cause by my riding pants.

Ive cleaned up some nasty looking pipes w/ the fine steel wool and chrome polish or mothers alum. polish. If it does dull it at all it shines right up w/ a quick polish w/ the pad on the drill.

SOS pads are good too...finer scratches than steel wool and they buff out a little easier, IMO.
