They used these kits I believe to race in the 200 class with an ATC250r,and from what I've heard, were pretty friggin fast! K10Seibel has a restored 200r in a thread here I believe. And Carlos(BDT) knows quite a bit about the Selvy's stuff. There is more info on the 3 wheeler sites(.org and world.net). Def rare piece of history, and have seen VERY few for sale. I have a selvy's trx top end, sectional pipe and silencer, that I really would like to keep but probably gonna sell :( to fund the dune build.

X2 what noles said. There's a lot more info on the 3 wheeler sites about Selvy's. I remember seeing a 200r on one of them a year or so ago and it was pretty cool.
I was a young kid, hanging out at Rob's place in 1985-90 in Ontario, CA while going to school to get my Engineering degree. Selvy's Performance built the 200R to run in the 200CC ATC class. Sparks used a Selvy 200CC to win the National Championship as well as a few others. I ported, built a few 200R's as well.

Besides building most if not all of Team Kawasaki & Team Honda factory rides from 1985-90, Selvy was also a top supplier of privateer teams. It was a dream shop in the perfect place & time if you were into 2 strokes, 250R's and ATC/TRX's. Can you imagine the fun I had hanging out with these guys and all the Pro riders...:)

I learned a lot during those days, and consider Selvy's Performance, Rob and the crew to be the most innovative and cutting edge shop for 250R's that ever existed. I still see Rob, George, Dan, Matt and the Selvy Performance gang once in a while. Rob is a good friend and stops by BDT Motorsports when in town visiting his mother.

Lot's of good memories & stories from Selvy's Performance...:)

Carlos.

If I'm not mistaken, that Selvy's kit is quite rare and collectable.

Here's a link to a pretty darned nice 200r build on 3WW. Buster did a nice job with it finding alot of period-correct stuff for it. K10 ATC 200R Build (updated 6/15)
yeah these kits are super cool atc racing history I know a guy with a top end thats been on his trophy shelf since 93
Why are they not building parts today? Seems like everyone loved them.
The 200R is not that rare; over 200 had been built at Selvy's. I have one of the original Team Race 200R's in storage, ported by your's truly back in the day. Rob talks to me about building some new engines all the time, in actuality he is totally out of the scene, except to stop by and tinker with me once in a while. We have talked about building new cutting edge engine builds, however; time and resources are the issue for Rob.

According to Rob Selvy; BDT Motorsports is a mirror image of Selvy's Performance when it comes to building 250R engines...the same Pro Porting & Flow work as what was done to Team Honda & Team Kawasaki 250R engines, same transmission work, crank work, is what comes out of BDT Motorsports today; ported by the same individuals that ported most of Selvy's Works Team cylinders now port & flow only for BDTM.

The door has always been open to Rob Selvy at BDT Motorsports; he has threatened to come over for 1-2 weeks and build the most powerfull 250R ever produced with me; it would be great if I can get him to find the time, however; it likely will never happen, life goes on, Rob is busy with other projects...

Carlos.

Cool, sounds like that would be an awesome build! Maybe it will happen one day.

I currently have a 1985/86 Selvy ported cylinder with fresh sleeve/bore/port match with Wiseco piston, pin, clips. and wrist pin for sale. All work was done by LA Sleeve. Just looking to sell it. I figure the port job is the deal.
