I am having a hell of a time keeping my chain tension. My problem is that over time the real bearing carrier twists inside the swingarm. I was hoping others have had this problem and could help me stop this from happening..
its a 1986 swingarm and i just rebuilt the whole thing so I know that the bearing carrier is clean. The bolts arent loosening yet the carrier is still twisting.
Isn't there a couple of O'rings on the O.D. of each side of the carrier? I think those should keep it from twisting if they are in good shape and the housing tightens down good against them.
^^^ If the o-rings aren't there, it won't hold. I just went through this with mine. If you need the part numbers, just say so in here (if you're not running them).
typically it should hold without the o-rings on there. i think what has happened is that the clamping area at the carrier has stretched over the years therefor not clamping as it should.
