well i like riding at night but my R done have any lights or a regulator do i need one an whats it do? an will the lights at auto zone work

yup. you'll need a regulator. it contolls the amount of voltage. and yes those lights will work but, if your going to run 2 id suggest getting the 35watt or run a single 50-55watt

I was lucky as all the lighting wiring and regulator was still intact when I got my R, so I used some lights from Auto Zone and they worked out perfectly!

I'm heading to the dunes in a few weeks and lost my stock headlight recently, So i've been thinkin bout doin the same thing. Whats this regulator that you guys are talking about.... i'm not much of an electrical whiz!

its the a.c. voltage regulator that came stock. it's located under the hood in the general area of the stearing stem. it'll have a w/y and green wire coming from it. it's easily recognized by the air cooling fins on it. and is a must if you are to run lights.
