my 86 250r motor was running until i broke the case but nother story for another day. like i said it ran and super strongly but when i took the motor apart it has a 87-89 crank a 85 cylinder a 86 piston and a 86 head ported or bored what ever you say to 23.5 cc with no spacer plate how is this possibly. CT ported the cylnder.

ct is the only co that cut the top of the pistons.sorta reverse dome.thats the only possable way but still hard to believe.

Can you post pics or at least post up the numbers you found on the connecting rod that was in the engine?

i can post the rest of the pics in a bit but crank says KAH 9 so long rod piston is obviously a 85-86 not cut is is a pro x from the factory still says 150 and IN on top. the cylinder sleeve says 85 and HA2 then the head was bored by some one to 23.5 cc ran with a cr head gasket. no spacer plate and the crank says KAH not KA4. or am i just stupid

You asked, and I will answer; that's not a Honda ATC/TRX250R piston....it is a YZ250 piston setup in an OEM cylinder. With no cylinder decking, and a bit of dome work. Nothing real special, old school thinking.
