Hey guys, I'm stumped. My 250r starts right up and idles but once it gets to the powerband point in the RPM range it sputters (no backfire).

History:
-Fresh top end installed a week ago (correctly)
-Bottom end installed 2 years ago (had the same problem)
-New wire harness and stator installed a week ago (grounds are good)
-Ignition boot is functioning and relatively new.
Also, a couple years ago I was working on fixing this issue. My friend had a perfectly running 86 250r, so he let me use it as process of elimination. Swapped Reeds and carb from his bike, no difference. Swapped CDI, no difference.
Im leaning towards it being something electrical however, not sure where to go from here. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Check the spark plug boot again. Make sure it snaps on the plug. I had a similar problem last year on my son's R. I towed it back to camp and checked everything out and noticed that the plug boot was loose on the spark plug. It was actually just barely sitting on the plug. I put a new boot on and problem solved. Also remove your flywheel and shake it. If it sounds like a baby rattle its shot. The magnets come loose and move around.
