That stuff is stock. For all intents and purposes, the 1987 looks exactly like the 1986. Google it for a pic.

i just bought another r and it was really strange. it has sort of like some bull bars over the headlight that hold it to the handle bars and also a sort of cage over the front brake resevoir. it looks like it might be aftermarket but not sure since the 86's and 87's i havee seen dont have that i was like wow that looks really dorky. but i cant take it off with out fabbing some barkets to hold the light. and you guys think i can still get some stock plastics at chaparal well actually oem plastics? thanks i also forgot to mentio or actually ask if any one had pictures of 1987 stock honda quads. thanks alot.

i looked my quad dont look like that. i saw the little nerf bar things and thats what i thought i had but this one is covering all of it. man i need to get a picture up but i cant seem to find one with the same thing mine has.

or aftermarket ........ the headlight guard & m/c guard are both from early ATC's
I have like frt M/C guard & have used them on all my quads ...
yeah mine isnt like that it has the front coverd with like a grille/ guard and the front master/resovour thing has one too. so its from an atc? hmmm makes it look dorky IMHO but i dont have anything to place it with. might just hack off the bars in the front or something.
