i have both an 89 and 87 250r and right now i was out side looking at it and it seems to be wider in the front as wide as the back to be exact. i dont know if the rims have an ofset but you can tell my 89 is narrower from the front. so i was wondering if the 86-87 are wider than th 88-89 models? also i know this isnt the right place to say this but why create anotehr thread :) my 89 feels like it has more pinch than the 87 but the 87 is suppose to have a higher comp. engine and i noticed it had a spacer between the jug and the case. what would this mean? i heard about it before but i cant seem to remeber what it does or means. but in two days im going to see what my 87 can do at glamis compared to my 89. but my 89 really needs a tune because it is running rich up the wazoo!!!! thanks for any info!

the spacer is because you have long rod 87-89 with an 86 style piston.

so is that a good thing or is it going to become a problem? so my 89 uses a diffrent piston than my 87 but the same bottom end? wow thats very confusing!

the main reason i was told was because there are more pistons avablible for the 86 and 87-89. so when you reach the limit on piston for 87-89 you could switch to the 86 style and get a few more bores before a resleeve.

oh how sweet!! so my 89 jug doesnt have as many re-bores than the 86? hmm i wonder if i can swap out the jugg. would it be worth it or not? and were would be a good place to get a piston kit? and would .040 over make a power diffrence with a port and polish (low mid) from c-leigh racing?
