Hey guys i just stripped down my new project and noticed the chain came off in a hurry at some point but it didnt crack the case but did tear up the case saver mounts and bent the shifter shaft.... Does anyone have a line on a new shaft and possibly a decent LS case it would be getting powder coated so wear is not a issue.

Cases can be repaired but powder coating them is not a good idea. You'll get people saying they do it all the time with no issues but technically cases are not supposed to be heated to 400 degrees. The manual says less than 220 degrees when your heating them for bearing removal otherwise you risk softening the aluminum with all that excessive heat. I recently painted a set of cases with VHT engine enamel & cured it at 200 degrees in the shop ove. The paint seems durable but i haven't assembled & run the engine yet so time will tell if it holds up.
