What are you using for reeds/intake boot? Are you using a spacer?alright guys, i just picked up the motor over at esr. it is an 86 bottom end with a long rod now on a 3mm stroker crank. it is also in an 86 frame. Ok, i dropped the motor in with no problem, but went to put on the carb and intake tube i noticed that the cylinder had moved up so high that the throat of the carb points right at the rear shock mount almost and there is no room for the esr filter box eliminator tube nor the stock air box tube. How do i go about solving this problem? i have not talked to esr as it was already too late by the time i discovered the problem. But i am sure that someone on this site has encountered this problem becasuse i dont believe that this a very wild not uncommmon motor combonation. please i need help fast, going to glamis in 2 weeks
I have never had a problem with this and I run V-Force reeds w/a 3/8" reed spacer and a UPP big bore intake boot and an ESR airbox eliminator.
The only thing I can come up with is maybe the intake boot? Is yours stock? If so maybe try a UPP or CR style.
