330 stroker

alright guys, i just picked up the motor over at esr. it is an 86 bottom end with a long rod now on a 3mm stroker crank. it is also in an 86 frame. Ok, i dropped the motor in with no problem, but went to put on the carb and intake tube i noticed that the cylinder had moved up so high that the throat of the carb points right at the rear shock mount almost and there is no room for the esr filter box eliminator tube nor the stock air box tube. How do i go about solving this problem? i have not talked to esr as it was already too late by the time i discovered the problem. But i am sure that someone on this site has encountered this problem becasuse i dont believe that this a very wild not uncommmon motor combonation. please i need help fast, going to glamis in 2 weeks

I think he meant that the problem is the height of the intake and the height of the crossmember for the shock mount. I don't know if the crossmember is different on the 86 from the later years. My 88 with long rod engine is a tight fit between the OEM air box boot and the crossmember but it does fit.

yes i am using the stock boot and it is the angle of the boot that is the problem. it was perfect before but now with that spacer plate it wont fit. if the boot would be angled down a litlle more it would clear just right. i will call esr today and see what they have to say and i maybe buying a cr boot today just to try.might have to come up with something my self. Iam also using v force reeds with no spacer.
