im currently in the process of rebuilding my 1st 89 250r and have came across a 330R barrel and piston. before i go ahead with the barrel and piston i want to know is it just a bolt on and go or do i need some more upgraded parts in the internals of the engine itself

Depends on the brand of cylinder. I know ESR makes or use to make a bolt on 330. I'm not sure if anybody else does. ESR also makes a cylinder that the cases need to be bored, you get more bores out of it this way. I think this is what most do.
