I know I am new to this forum but have already found a few things. Taking a look at the motor casing and its been working on. Doesn't look good. Anyone know where i can get the cases for the motor without paying an arm and a leg. I guess the chain came off and broke the case at some point.

Also I will be rebuilding the motor and just wanted some input from the 250R community. What is the best upgrade to do on this motor?

just have them welded.as for rebuilding oem parts is always the best

true .. almos impossible to find cheap cases in good condition ... NOS is a reall bummer in terms of pricing since they cost a fortune ((

post some picture of your cases ... just recently posted some myself and people said they look good ...
