So this guy at a local shop with years of 250r experience told me to run this setup. Seems wierd to me, but he says that the pipe will help "pull" more fuel out of the small jet. Sounds good, and I will do a plug chop, but it has been my experience that pipes require a bigger main jet. Does this make sense to anyone else?

well someone might reply ..but seems to me you would be better off adding some detailed info for more accurate responses ..like cylinder size , carb size, reeds etc

LRD pipe, boyesen reeds, everything else besides the ignition is stock. Elevation is 800'. When I put pipes and a K&N on my banshee I finally arrived at a 340 mikuni main from a 220. Can't believe the Honda is going to be backwards from that!

I'll probably start with a 160 and do a plug chop. Just wanted to throw this out there because it struck me as being strange.

how are you setting up the pipe ?...should be in the upper 160's lower 170's ..when ya get it right ..there is more to tuning than the main jet ..when it cycles @ WOT you got it !.. :D

the LRD pipe uses a much smaller main jet than say a duncan,ct or esr. i wouldnt go by the plug. just run it at *full throttle* from low rpm to high with a stock jet. if it skips then go down a size at a time until it cleans up and then your perfect. jetting by the plug is hopeless! as it takes a long time to change color and the engine is NOT run a WOT the entire time which will give flase readings. i tune all my carb. by sound and feel.
