Hello Trx250r ,new to the site but a lifelong 2 stroke fan. I dont know what the average age of the members here are but i bought a atc 250r brand new from the dealer in 1986 and in 1988 got a new banshee. I have regretted getting rid of them but always have had a two stroke atv or dirtbike ever since. I am also guilty of infecting my son with this love of two strokes, we built a 2001 ported stock cylinder banshee together and will never get rid of it . We have picked up an 1981 air cooled atc 250r and a 1985 atc 250r and then came across a 1986 trx 250r a couple of weeks ago. I have a friend who bought the 81 but were keeping the two liquid cooleed 250rs. I have the atc tore down for a rebuild but the trx checked out with 168 psi compression on snap on guage i realize thats a little low but it still runs pretty well. Hope to learn a lot from all of you thanks .
