    Replacing painted over engine hardware??

Has anyone ever painted an assembled engine then replaced the old hardware? Im thinking of replacing one bolt at a time, working around. Im sure this will work fine on clutch cover and left side cover, but what about head nuts or case hardware? I dont want to commit to this unless these is a good chance it will work... it would only be for cosmetic reasons. My top end has low hours and my trans shifts fine. The next time this engine gets rebuilt I will most likely PC the cases and replace the crank.

A possible solution to freshening up the head bolts without removing them would be these caps I’ve seen that mount over the head of the bolt so they won’t need to be removed,im not sure if they come in that size but it’s worth a look for the bolts that make you uneasy removing..
