Just pulled the trigger on a pro x 310 opinions?

My 86 trx short rod has a hot rods crank paul turner 89 race pipe rad valve pj38 cool head ported oem cylinder and has around 185 psi comp. I run 100 octane. I just bought a pro x ported 310 cylinder. 72.20mm if I buy a new piston and put that pro x on and with my pipe and reeds what can I expect? Run better than my oem setup? Low end? It's a non power valve

most likely you wont feel much ofa difference except if the new prox had a better port job.

Not trying to sound disrespectful here but you dont think I'll notice a power difference from a 67.50mm oem cylinder to a 72.20mm pro x cylinder? I often hear there is no replacement for displacement

Should run stronger assuming good porting. Pro X cylinders are good to go.
Laeger narrow, Protrax, cr500 link, 363
Stock '88 frame, 265 pv and peps

My 310 wiped the floor over my buddies oem cylinder. You should notice a difference especially if it's ported.

littel gains from going from 68mm to 72mm.oem cylinders ported run real well.when you really see a difference is when you go 330-363.after that 363-391 little more torque but no real power gains.

What all should I check befor I throw the 310 top end on? I'll get a new 72.20mm weisco piston and check the crank, It is a low hour hot rods short rod. Any thing else I chould check befor I fire it up?

just make sure the cylinder was honed for the piston and has the proper piston to wall clearance.new prox or oem needel bearing.also make sure you are running enough octane fuelfor the dome and compression.i put straight 2stroke oil on cylinder, piston, rings, wrist pin before assembely.do a few heat cycles re torque and jet properly.

Thanks for the help. Think my paul Turner 89 race pipe will be ok with the 310? I know it might not be the best for my setup but is it too small for the 310?
