I have a new set still in packaging for an 88/89. Send me your email for pics and/or info and an offer. I was gonna use it for a future build but may let it go.

I think that's probably the issue though is that if someone has a set, like I do. They don't want to let them go cheap cause they are no longer available.

yeah thats understandable but for 500 i could send the stock tranny to r&d and it would come back stronger than yukons

I broke a set of yukons. Then had the stock set cryoed for $75 and never broke them. I will never use yukons again.

good information. ive heard having them cryoed can make them brittle and shatter easy but im glad they have worked great for you. might just have some cryoed and micro polished. r&d does some kind of treatment that actually softens the gears a little so that they flex a little and not shatter then back cut them, reshim the tranny for perfect fit in the cases and can make them almost bullet proof. they are the number one people in trannies but i dont want to have too much money in this transmission because im going to play with this setup for a little while and eventually set it back up with an override.

Mine were cryoed and then had some sort of heat treating. They did not give me details. Tranny was backcut 1-4 and it was bullet proof. Shifting was smoother. I think I paid around $250 for everything backcut and treating. Key will be finding a good tranny to start with.

Actually they are $429.99 for our Yukon set. We heat Treat them, Cryo and magnuflux...comes with certificate. If you can find them for less, get them as I understand it the next batch of Yukon's will be substancially higher.

One of the Drag guys (mcCoy) makes a Billet trans, we have a few old Billet trans made in the early 90's...both sell for around $1500; yes expensive.

    Carlos.

if yall do all that carlos it does make it more worth it than just a standard set for sure. one of my buddies use to have a billet stock style tranny and sold it years back for like 15 1600. i think they were produced by duncan if i remember correctly could be far off though.
