Hi,
I am looking for adaptor brackets to mount 250r or 450r front brake calipers onto my Laeger pro trax front end. Or are there still companies out there that are still builiding them.

I'm not aware of any caliper adapters to mount up 450R calipers. I take it your spindles use 400EX calipers, if so Baldwin Walsh Merrell and PRP all made adapters at one time to mount 250R calipers to 400EX spindles. One thing I heard to do was use front calipers off the Yamaha 450 quad, I think from 02 to 05 were the years. They are suppose to be a direct bolt on to 400EX spindles.

Yup, but only the yfz450r. The other Yamaha uses only single piston calipers. And I don't think they fit anyhow.. they yfz450r is suppose to have some of the best brakes out there.
is it just the 02 to 05. They made changes so the rest will not fit
I thought mine were from an 06 but I may be mistaken. If you go on atvriders in the 400ex section they will help better but I thought it was all years up to 09 ..
It's possible the YFZ450R and YFZ450X brakes will fit, but nobody has really tried them. You need YFZ450 from 04-08 models and possibly the new 12 model. They are dual piston and are direct bolt up to
400ex spindles. IF your protrax is designed for 400ex calipers it should work fine.
Thanks for the replies. Could some of the protrax front ends be set up to take the 250r calipers. I just went out and tried a set of extra 250r ones I had and guess what, they fit. I just assumed they needed 400ex ones.
Most of them were, only 2004 or something and newer were made for 400ex
