I bent my durablue axle last weekend. If I take it to a machine shop to bend it back will It hold or will it bend on the same spot since it weak??? This the first axle I bent. I usually buy lsr axles..

In all my years racing, I have never heard of anyone actually bending one back. A lot of people have asked the question, but pretty sure you just need to buy new.

How bad is it? I have seen many quads with a slight wobble still racing.

I have bought all my axles bent for cheap from other people and straigten them my self.

I use a Big shop press and use some blocks on each end of the axle that allow the axle to roll in place. Then i just run the press down till it barley touches or doesnt even quite touch and roll the axle around to find the high spots.

When i find the high spots i give it a few good pumps, may even leave it there for a bit. And start the process back over untill im satisified with it.

I have bought 3 axles and straightend them all this way. Never had any issues since.

    Good luck

    Wow. Did not know that.

I always figured that the axle would weaker after you bend it back. I have never bent one personally, but figured I would just buy new when the time came.

It actually gets harder, but thats not necesarly a good thing. It becomes more brittle the more you bend it back and forth. Its called work hardening.

Regardless i have seen Aftermarket axles that where reputable snap like a twig as well. I personally have never broken an axle. Not to say that a straigetend one wont break, but my bet it has more to do with the smoothness of the rider.

Bad landing? I have only seen an axle bend once and that was from hitting a tree WOT sideways. I forget what H-bomb film it was but a rider snaped an axle off a jump. One of the earlier Huevos videos I believe.

Ya it broke on each side of the bearing carrier. His name was Nate Feese. He was an awsome rider from Iowa. Used to look up to that guy.

My father straightened my stock axle for me on a big press about 20 years ago. never had a problem with it after that.
