    Need Some Brake Help!

Ok this is what is going on......The last time I had my R out was when I took it flat tracking, ended up blowing the motor and so it has been sitting for 1 1/2 years.....So we are planning a trip to Oklahoma so I got it out to build a new motor and I went to push it out and the front brakes are dragging really bad to the point they are almost locked up.....the R is a 87 with the R hubs and brakes, so if anyone has ever had this problem or might know what it is please let me know.....Thanks again!

I have had mine stick some, but it usually clears up after riding a little. In the past, I've pulled the wheels off and moved the calipers around just to make sure that everything could still move freely.

Mine were like that and had to remove the pistons from the calipers and clean a "build up" from the calipers that wouldnt allow the pistons to work properly.

My 88 sat for a long time before I rebuilt it, and I had to completely rebuild the front calipers. The brake fluid was really thick and gunky...my husband had to take the front brake lines to work and repeatedly use a heavy duty air compressor to blow all the crud out of them. As MadMike said, clean out the calipers really good, you might need to get the rebuild kit too. However don't forget to clean out the brake lines really good.
