    mx in 2012

I grew up on dirt bikes and these quads just ride sooo much different.
What i would really love is some help with everything hahaha. Ill start off with rider position... I have an 89 with pro pegs , Im a small famed guy at 5"6 .
Does anyone happen to have some pictures explaining proper positions I should start with for levers, pedals, bars?

Are pro designs shifter and stock brake too long with propegs?

I think im trying to set this thing up like a bike and its not comfy.
I have tons more questions ill address once we cover some basics lol
    Nasty as I wanna be.

With propegs you need a 1" shorter shifter. (The propegs lower the foot peg and put it back one inch from the stock position). I had a pro design aluminum shifter and it stripped out in no time. I buy a regular shifter and have someone shorten them for me. I'm a female...also 5'6" and I'm also having my rear brake pedal shortened an inch on my MX quad. I wear a size 9 women's shoe, and size 9 men's Fox racing boots (which run small).

Hope that helps some.Aletha aka Breezy

If you are dead set on a PD inch shorter shifter I have one that is in great shape with no spline wear at all that I'll sell for cheap. A little tip though is that an 85 atc250r shifter works better and sticks out more(from the motor side case) which the PD doesn't do. I'm using the stock length brake pedal and it works fine. I have small feet (size 9) too. I like tall bars and steering stem so I'm running 250r bend renthals with a +2 stem. I'm about 5'10" tall. For me the taller bars and stem are more comfortable when standing or sitting and helps me get my weight back farther for whoops. What works for me may not be what you like though. Its all about personal comfort. If you're coming from a dirtbike background then I'm sure you'll notice that having 2 more wheels usually means you hit twice as many bumps. My dirtbike friends don't like mxing a quad and while I own and ride a dirtbike too, I don't like mxing (jumping) the dirtbike. It's all about finding what works for you. Spend your money on suspension, a arms and axle first as they are what will most likely be what improves your lap times more on a rough track. All the motor in the world is no good if your ride is to rough to use that hp. All this is just my opinion, but I'm sure most mx racers will agree with what I've said.
