    Also I bet if you get a different boot from the carb to the reed cage it might work better, something with more angle assuming you can, it's been so long since I have fooled with a 250r

    x2. I actually talked to him about this because he had a "cradle" that his motor sat in and it bolted into the 450 frame so you could remove it and put a 450 motor back in if you wanted. It worked out very well.

    I heard the 400ex chassis is a lot easier to do this too, I wonder how much of this 450r will swap to that? I wouldn't mind buying the frame and doing the swap and having both bikes going

    I did the 400ex swap and had same issues. Sprocket and pivot bolt relation is important. 2 stroke sits much higher so I just notched out cross member and plated the hollow cut out for carb boot to clear

    Do they make a different carb boot? Or has anyone tried it? I need to see if I can dig up an old reed cage and carb to try some stuff out

    Can you just weld the lower rear engine mount in like on the newer frames and then cut the lower part of rear mount/swing arm spacer off? Looks like you could make the rear mount/swing arm spacer upper bolt hole position where you want it pretty easily or just do away with it and then you wouldn't be changing the rear suspension geometry. Pictures may be misleading but that's how I would probably try it from what I see.

    The swing arm pivot should be kept close to the countershaft the same as Honda has it.
