    pvl

Anyone herd of the company pvl? A guy I know told me there a good company for two strokes. He said his dream bike would have low compression and a pvl ignition. Now why would you want low compression? I know its a odd question, but what could low compression do for you? I always thought high compression was good.

PVL is a type of IGN system.

Compression, high or low is dependednt on the engine set-up and application. For example; on MX type of engines (below 400CC) higher compession (to a point) gives you more TrQ on the low-to mid range. Lower compression (again to a point) helps the Top end. Some BB Drag engines will run 140lbs-150lbs of compression with NOS or 165-170lbs on Methanol, yet a Duner or MX engine on Race Fuel will like 185lbs-205lbs and some engine builds 235lbs plus.

It all depends on the engine set-up & application...

Interesting, I didn't know that either. I always thought low compression was a bad thing.
