Found out a peg holes messed up

I took my pro pegs off and it looks like a bolt snapped in there half way in. My question is, can I simply drill the hole and tap new threads? Reason I ask is because I had the same issue with my banshee and there's not a lot of material to drill and tap and heli coil is compromising safety(banshee).

    Try extracting it first.

I have heli-coiled several footpeg holes in my 86 frames over the years. Never had a problem with them, in any way. I wouldn't consider it a compromise of safety, as the heli coil material is usually much stronger than the original steel. I would try a left handed bit to get the bolt out, then repair as necessary.

I have drilled my peg holes to the next size and use a larger bolt than normal. There is PLENTY of material for prilling and tapping where these holes are. They are solid for ~1.5-2" in depth.
