Wiseco or copper head gasket ? for a 69.50 bore and base plate questions.

I Do have a 69.50 bore Wiseco piston and long rod with a 5mm base plate.
Should I just order a Wiseco head gasket or go with a the copper ?
While Im down should I have my 5mm base plate shaved to 3.5 mm what are the perks ?
    Thanks

You cant just shave the base plate without knowing port timing, deck height and setup.

Normally 85-86 piston kit, long rod, uses a .1875"....3/16" spacer plate plus two .020" base gaskets.

I would keep away from Copper gaskets; they leak easily. Use Honda OEM metal gaskets ground to 69.75MM....you need the extra .25MM to clear piston diameter at TDC as pistons will rock beyond 69.50MM.

If you can't find the metal head gaskets locally, call BDT, we stock them.
