    Gearing, help

I have a esr 310 using 15 / 36 gearing for ice racing. The port and exhaust is a trx9. I need to get this thing into a higher gear ratio. What is the best way to do it? Go bigger on the rear or smaller on the front? Is there a advantage to doing it one way over the other as they both are higher ratios? Let's just say, I want 3rd gear to spin the tires easier on bottom end.

Go smaller on the primary drive sproket (Front) and bigger on the Rear sprocket. One tooth up or dwon on the Front sprocket equals 3 teeth on the Rear (average). If running a 15-36, try a 15-39 or go down to a 14-36...experiment with equal gear ratios by runing different front and rea sprocket combinations only once you have exhausted all other tuning options...the difference is small, however; equal combinations of gear ratios will behave slightly different.
