I used to drag race a lot before & i had several setups on my shee (super cubs, cubs, twisters) but started to slow down when i had my first kid, then really slowed down when i had my second one lol ... I'm racing occasionaly on ice (TT), play on the lake, and ride wide trails in the summers. I still love to slap 4 pokes in the face once in a while on the lake but thats pretty much it with my drag racing carreer now loll.
I am now in the 40+ class for MX racing, so I hear you on getting slower as we get older! I started racing my R with a ported stock cylinder and just recently went to a 280cc cylinder with good porting. Waiting on getting my 330 cylinder running. But if you playing around I would not get all fancy. A good ported cylinder (310 or 330) should give you plenty of power for a smile on your face. It all comes down to your wallet. But a ported cylinder with higher compression and a good pipe will be more than enough power to play. Of course coming off a super Banshee, I doubt the power will compare. But the chassis more than makes up for it.

'86_350r , Your hp/tq #'s are pretty good on your unported sphynx setup! Do you run on pump gas ? Like i said before money is not a problem, I Sold my cub motor to a friend this morning, this is how serious i'm am with my R Project

I run it on 110. After having this motor I have rode a buddies 310 a few weeks ago and was seriously disappointed. I didnt tell him that of course...My point is coming from a cub your going to want something bigger than a 310. If I had to do it all over again I would go with my current setup. Its well worth the money spent IMO.

I love pulling up on a built 4 poke that has been beating everyone on the hill all day and flat laying it down on him.

My ESR 330 cylinder and complete bottom end rebuild with powder coat, pipe silencer, reeds carb cdi, coil, stator, new hoses and some anodizing was about $4000.00. I kinda wish I'd went with a pro x cylinder or cpi but they were alot more money I haven't red much negative about cpi. I had BDT put it together.

I paid 2300 for my complete engine build throu ESR. After I took the crank that was out of spec out and tossed my cylinder in the shed, I bought the Sphynx. it cost me 1600 for the complete top end with 2 hours of tuning. I wish I would have got off my wallet and paid for the right stuff up front instead of going cheap. I got what I paid for and ill never go that route again.

A well ported/flowed and built 330R will give that Banshee more than it can handle. I agree; do it right the first time, best to wait and save up if needed than to throw hard earned $$$'s down the drain.

Christ...not again. I would invite ANY PUMA/Saber powered honda to run my banshee...dont bring a lunch, as my twin will hand you one

I've had a few motors, and have found that Calvin's are superior to most anything we've built. I would highly recommand something via CPI for your Honda.

The OP's question was not asked about a high end Banshee, it was simple:

    Unported Cub cylinders (68mm bore)
    - 4 Mill Crank (58mm stroke)
    * Thats a 421cc motor*
    - Cool head w/21cc domes (Pump gas)
    - Snyper Pipes
    - 35mm PWK'S Carbs
    - Vf3's ect ect...

I know of a few Honda's from 330CC on up that will rip up this Banshee as listed above, including a few ProX, CPI Sphinx & Puma's...some built by BDTM and a few built by Matt...NONE built by CT, ESR or anyone else. I agree Duner, even if I have never seen your Banshee run, yours sounds like a very good runner, and that lunch is not needed...

Your correct, OP did ask, and my response was more directed towards that one off post that was quite general in response. I have seen posts like that bring banshee guys into forums and blow it up because of general posts similar like that.

low 70's hp for unported 68 bore 58 stroke cub seem right in line on pump gas.
