oem light/kill switch year differences......

Hey carlos, As of now i dont have a oem light/kill switch on my 86 framed 250r, just a aftermarket kill switch. My 250r has full oem 88 plastics and 88 head light assembly with light. My headlight doesnt work of course, because i dont have a switch. My question being, i want to hook up a headlight on my 250r and i am looking for a oem light/kill switch but i dont know what year to buy. Is there any differences in 86/87 switches-wiring and 88/89 switches-wiring? If i have a all 86 trx250r except for my 88 plastics and headlight, which year wiring and switch should i buy and use? Thanks man!

Actually all the wire harness years will work with all the CDI's, Coils, ect...Stator is different in 89 at the connector plug. The ON/OFF switch is basicly the same for all years of the TRX250R...you can even take a Switch from an ATC250R 85 or 86 and re-wire to a 86-89 TRX250R. You can use a wire harness and components from an 86, 87 or 88 in an 89 TRX250R if you are using an 86-88 Stator or re-wire the 89 Stator with a 86-88 connector, the connector that needs to be changed is the red/black & white wire connector(s).

We take ATC250R NEW ON/OFF Switches and re-wire to TRX250R 86-89 all the time.
