    Carlos.
i threw the mags away a couple of years ago. he stated that a carb takes in most of its air from the outside edges of the air horn and thats why the best shape would be a velosity stack but space does not permit this on an atv.he said you could place silver dollar very close to the center of the airhorn and have very little affect on flow. he did not tell you how to fix the problem.but we all know that a rectangular port flows better than a round port and that a round port causes a funnel effect.it seems to me that honda went to a lot of effort in what they made. why did they go to that effort if a staight tube flowed the same.I definitly agree that running a filter on the back of the carb is not the way to go,for someone who is into riding there bike and not dragging it. I dont think your gonna see a diff. in horse power, but you probably notice a diff.in how one pulls the next gear better than the other. i blend the airhorn to the boot and so that it is smooth flowing as it can be.I have no proof that it makes a diff, but i like running stock honda rims ,so what do i know

Thanks Fred for sharing...I can also share that I have first hand knowledge why the Honda ATC250R & TRX250R Intake Boot from carb end to AirBox looks like it does, and in reality it has almost ZERO to do with "Stack Velocity" and everyhting to do with practicality and fit & function.
